What is Rehaunted?
Rehaunted is a first-person psychological detective horror game from the French studio Cauchemar. You play as detective Connor Raines, sent to what looks like a routine case: a young woman found dead inside her own home. What should be a short scene inspection turns into a slow, uncomfortable unravelling, because the physical evidence keeps refusing to agree with itself.
Contradictory Evidence
The deeper the investigation goes, the more the physical findings disagree with each other. The case never hands you a single clean answer.
Tool-Driven Investigation
A UV flashlight, camera, magnifier, walkie-talkie and evidence board make up the full investigation loop and gate almost every discovery.
Radio Dialogue
Conversations with the second detective carry dialogue options that expand the story and challenge the assumptions you have already made.
Final Reconstruction
Endgame sequence where you commit to one version of the night. The conclusion you reach is the one your evidence supports.
Instead of combat or open exploration, the game asks you to work a single house like an investigator. You sweep rooms with a UV flashlight, photograph and enlarge details, log findings to an evidence board, and talk through what you have found over the radio with another detective. Dialogue choices reshape how the case is framed, and the game deliberately withholds a clean answer, leaving you to commit to your own reading of the night.

Evidence Priorities
The main evidence families in Rehaunted, what kind of proof they are, and where they usually sit in the house. Priority reflects how much a full evidence set depends on them.
Detective Toolkit
Five tools carry the entire investigation. Knowing what each one reveals — and when switching matters — is the difference between a thin case file and a complete one.
UV flashlight
When to use it: Sweep surfaces slowly and at close range, because UV detail does not read from across a room
Camera
When to use it: Photograph anything you may need to compare later, especially before you leave an area
Magnifier
When to use it: Use it on documents, labels, fingerprints and anything with tiny print
Walkie-talkie
When to use it: Answer every radio check-in, because the dialogue branches they open reframe the case
Evidence board
When to use it: Update it before any story beat that locks a conclusion, especially the reconstruction
Walkthrough Phases
The investigation runs as a sequence of phases rather than numbered chapters. Each phase states what you are doing and what has to happen before the story moves on.
How the Case Can End
Rehaunted resolves through the choices you make on the radio and the evidence you actually logged. These are the routes that decide which conclusion is available.
Choice path
Watch out for: Missing a check-in can quietly narrow how the case is framed
Evidence path
Watch out for: A thin evidence set removes options before you reach the reconstruction
Final reconstruction
Watch out for: This is the last point that reads your case file, so finish sweeping first
True ending route
Watch out for: Advancing the story early can leave a room permanently unsearched
Alternative conclusions
Watch out for: Worth a second pass once you know how the house is laid out
Rehaunted FAQ
What kind of game is Rehaunted?+
Rehaunted is a first-person psychological detective horror game from the French studio Cauchemar. You play detective Connor Raines investigating the death of a young woman inside a single house. There is no combat and no open world: the game is built around collecting physical evidence, using detective tools and deciding for yourself what the night actually looked like.
How long is Rehaunted and how many chapters does it have?+
Cauchemar describes Rehaunted as a two to three hour experience, and it is structured as a sequence of investigation phases rather than numbered chapters. Our walkthrough follows those phases: arrival and scene survey, the main room sweep, secondary areas, the evidence board review, radio check-ins and the final reconstruction.
Can you miss evidence in Rehaunted?+
Yes. Recordings, personal belongings and UV-only traces sit off the obvious path, and the story can move forward before you have swept a room completely. That matters because the ending reads from what you logged, not from what you walked past. Sweep each area fully before triggering the next story beat if you want every conclusion available.
What do the detective tools actually do?+
The UV flashlight reveals residue that is invisible in normal light, the camera records what you have found and supports close inspection, the magnifier reads small text and fine markings, the walkie-talkie carries your dialogue with the second detective, and the evidence board is where findings turn into an argument rather than a pile of facts.
How do you get the true ending in Rehaunted?+
The best conclusion depends on a near-complete evidence set logged before the final reconstruction. Radio dialogue choices accumulate across the run and change how the case is framed, but they cannot replace missing proof. Sweep the house thoroughly, answer the radio check-ins, and only then commit to your version of the night.
Are there achievements and are any missable?+
Rehaunted ships with Steam achievements and full controller support. Story achievements come automatically along the main investigation path, while evidence and ending achievements depend on how complete your case file is. The full public achievement list is still thin at launch, so treat the guide as structure and strategy rather than a fixed checklist.
Is Rehaunted scary and who is it for?+
It is a slow-burn psychological horror rather than a chase-and-scream game. The pressure comes from sound design, tight framing and a house that reads as abandoned but never truly empty, plus the growing suspicion that your own evidence does not agree. If you like investigation and ambiguity more than combat, it is aimed at you.
Ready to Solve the Case in Rehaunted?
Work the crime scene properly, catch the clues that contradict each other, and pick the ending you actually believe. Our walkthrough and evidence guides keep you from missing anything on the way.
